Lisa Eldridge is a homeschooling mom of four who has been teaching her children from home for the past eleven years. Eldridge got her WAH start as a medical transcriptionist, a regular job where she had to show up for set hours everyday even though she got to work from the comfort of her own home.
Life got busy for her and her family when all four kids started homeschooling, so she set out to find a different WAH job with more flexibility.
Through Craigslist of all places she met a woman who gave her a break even though she lacked the exact skill set she needed. Eldridge received on-the-job training to transition from medical to general transcriptionist — and she has now been working as a general transcriptionist for the past seven years.
